
Born on March 29th, 1939, in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, to Clyde and Wilma Bumpus. Ron was a United States Army veteran and was awarded the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal for exceptional skills on the firing range, earning the Sharpshooter Marksmanship Badge with rifle qualification. He spent 40 years as an airplane inspector at McDonnell Douglas, where he was well respected for never missing a day of work.
Ron was known for his kindness, selflessness, and quirky sense of humor. He was a loving, dedicated father to his 2 daughters, Tammy and Tina. He is survived by his sister, Carla Harris, his children, grandchildren, and one great-grandson.
A Memorial Visitation will be held on Monday, March 9, 2026 from 10am-12noon at Hoffmeister Colonial Mortuary, 6464 Chippewa Street 63109. A Memorial Service will immediately follow at noon.
His Committal Service will be at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, 2900 Sheridan Road 63125 where Full Military Honors will be bestowed. All attendees are requested to meet at the gathering place in Sylvan Springs Park, across from the cemetery at the corner of Sheridan Road and Boundary Lane, at 1:15pm sharp. We will process from there into the cemetery.
