Willie was more than a a friend to us.
He was family.
We will miss him more than words can express.
His kindness, compassion, generosity, humor, and love of life will live on in our hearts.
He touched the lives of so many people and we are all better for knowing him. 
A truly remarkable Man.

I knew Bill from the Henges shooting range.  He was very likeable and took me under his wing to improve my shooting skills.  We used to joke around and seeing him always brought a smile to my face.  And by the way, he could put five shots into a quarter sized target at 100 yards.

Bill Freist was an outstanding man! I so enjoyed getting to know Bill while working with him at the Jay Henges range and have many memories of him. He was consistently positive, a great shooter, a wealth of knowledge, always learning, had a awesome sense of humor, and extremely loyal and trustworthy. Here is a pic when we reopened the range after the renovation. I’m glad to have known you, Mr. Freist. 

Willie was one of the regulars around Old Orchard Church (Webster Groves)  for a good number of years. The photo is from our 2017 church directory. We will miss his friendly face, rousing conversation, and enthusiasm for life. 

Bill was one of a kind.  He always had something to say.  His love for the shooting sports was second to none.  He loved being around the kids, and watching them shoot at the range.  You will be missed Buddie.

Willie was a dear friend to our teenage son( now 28). He would take him to the shooting range and turned him into quite the marksman, and taught him a lot about the safe use of guns.  Then he would take him out to lunch for a burger! He attended our son's Eagle Scout ceremony and our son honored him in his speech. Miss you, Willie.

I so looked forward to the big hug I received from Willie when he attended church.  He always had a big smile.  We also enjoyed the few visits when had with him at his home.  We will miss Willie.
