

Beloved husband of Janell (nee’ Shride); dear father of Chris (Kim) and Julie Amos; loving grandfather of Sarah Elizabeth (Bryan Thomas) Ranny, Bryan David (Tess) Amos, and Jorie Elianna Amos; beloved great-grandfather of Thomas Elliot Ranney, Liam Patrick and Declan Nicholas Amos; dear brother, uncle, cousin, and friend to many.
David was the fifth of eight children born to Isom J. and Bertha F. (Bates) Amos in Ballard, Arkansas, and is survived by one sister, Marie Hoffman. David served his country in the Korean War and retired from the US Army Reserve as a Captain. He taught Social Studies and retired from Southwest High School in St. Louis.
David was a former chairman of deacons at Southwest Baptist Church.
Visitation will be Wednesday, September 14, 4-8pm, at Hoffmeister Colonial Mortuary, 6464 Chippewa 63109. A second visitation will be Thursday, September 15, 10am, at Southwest Baptist Church 6401 Scanlan Ave., 63139 with Funeral Service to follow at 11am. Interment Jefferson Barracks.
