The gates of heaven were opened for Betty Ann Classen on Saturday, December 12th, 2020. Betty is survived by her daughter and son in law, Charlotte and Ronald House, grandchildren Angela Gritton (Steven), David House; 3 great-grandchildren, Natalynn House, Andy and Abby Gritton; several nieces and nephews, and many good friends. Betty was a trained beautician and operated her own business. In December of 1949 she married Oren Classen, and in April of 1951 Betty gave birth to their daughter Charlotte. Betty was an active member of Christ Lutheran Church in Duluth, MN. The family enjoyed spending their summers "at the cabin" on Caribou Lake just outside of Duluth. After retirement, Betty and Oren became 'Winter Texans" in their mobile home In Mission, Texas. Home-base continued to be in the Twin Cites area (Lindstrom, Oakdale) to stay close to family. In her later years Betty lived in Echo Ridge Senior apartments, and Ecumen Lakeview Commons, assisted living, in Maplewood MN. Private family services will be held and Betty will be laid to rest next to her husband at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
