Great Aunt Betty was a special lady and no one can deny that. Every time I saw her she was always smiling. To my Grandma (Shirley Burtman) I am so sorry for your loss I know how close you were to your sister Betty.  I hope you can find comfort in the fact that she is happier then ever with her heavenly father. To the Gooch Family my sincere condolences go out to the family it is hard to let the ones we love go.  I will keep you all in my prayers during these difficult days.

Betty was quite an inspiration to Jack & I.  Betty helped & guided me (Marilyn) through my Baptism back in 1995, shortly after we came to know Christ.  We are very saddened to hear about Betty's death, but are blessed to know we will see her again in heaven.  Our love, thoughts & prayers go out to the family!

Goodbye, my dearest sister

I can't stop the tears from falling down my face,
Because when you died, a part of me died with you. 
We were always here for each other.
I wish I could call you, just to talk and laugh with you.
You were my shoulder to cry on, my advisor, my best friend.
I am so glad I was able to give you one last kiss on Saturday, not knowing it would be my last.

A sister's love is something I was blessed to have.
A sisters bond is so strong, that not even in death can it be broken.
I no longer need to worry about you dear sister knowing you're finally at peace.
You are better off in Heaven, but my heart misses you terribly and I will miss you on this earth.

Dear Family,

Our hearts are both sad and glad at the news that Betty has gone on to heaven's glory. We know that you will miss her, but you can certainly rejoice that she is with her Savior.

Betty was always such a blessing and encouragement to me when I had the privilege to be her pastor. I was also blessed by her ministry to the young ladies that she taught in her Sunday School class. She poured herself into their lives in a way that went beyond the Sunday classroom. 

Connie joins me in extending our love to you at this time of your loss -- but her gain. What a joy to know the truth that "to be absent from the body" is "to be present with the Lord."

Every Daughter needs a Mother but not every Daughter has one. I was fortunate enough to be blessed with two. My mother Shirley, and you, my very special Aunt Betty. 

To some, love is just a word, to me it's a feeling, a feeling I got every time I shared time with you. Thank you from the depths of my heart for loving me unconditionally. You returned that love time and time again, possibly too much, nevertheless you did.

Thank-you, thank-you for being there when I needed you most, for being my rock when I should have been yours. Thank-you for believing in me, even when I doubted myself. Thank you for being the one person I could trust, no matter what, no matter where. But most of all thank-you for being such a special and loving aunt.  I love you. Now and forever.  Sharon.
