I was just thinking about Ms Adams, she was such an inspiration to me in life, one of my favorite HS teachers.  Reminded me of my mom, always turned to her for advice even when I did not want to hear what she had to say.  I knew she would guide me in the right direction.  I am so sad to see she has passed.  Her voice is and advice is always with me.  Her love of history and traveling is what lead me in the direction for my interests.  I remember I was in her class the year after she traveled to Russia, the things she taught us, about it was amazing.  The life lessons she taught me will stay with me forever.

Sending the family my thoughts and prayers. 

I have so many wonderful memories of Ms. Adams' history class as well as out trip to Washington DC. I am a history teacher today in part due to her love of history which she instilled in others!

Ms. Adams was such a memorable teacher. She was unabashedly truthful and always shared her personal antidotes with her students; tying them into our lessons about history and about life. She seemed to  live her life to the fullest and made her life what she wanted it to be, not what was prescribed to her. As a student of hers I saw her as an independent, strong woman who was passionate about her students. She held all of her students to high standards, whether we liked it or not. She did this with humor and love.  She inspired my teaching style; I try to be honest with all of my students, even when the truth isn't convenient and I hold them to high standards to prepare them for their future,  while making sure that they know how much I care. I thank Ms. Adams for being an example of this during the time she was my teacher. 
I could say so much more about the memories I have of her...she was one of the greats.

Your mom had a lasting impact on so many lives, mine included. From student to colleague to friend, Carol was a force to be reckoned with in all of the best ways. She made me laugh. She challenged the way I thought. She taught me a lot about the value of one small act of kindness. 
Some examples: when I couldn’t afford to on the annual Close Up government trip in high school, she paid for my trip, told me that I’d pay her back by selling candy bars and left it at that; when I became a teacher and applied to a position I wasn’t selected for, she not only made sure to send recommendations to other schools, she personally chastised the committee and later, when I had much success, she celebrated me as “the one that got away;” your mom encouraged me to get involved with the union scholarship trust committee and championed my work; your mom invited me over for several luncheons to learn more about investing and the power of financial empowerment for women…
 I could go on and on. 
I passed on every lesson and every bit of love she selflessly shared. Your mom loved you and your family more than anything, and she was so proud to call you hers: probably the greatest lessons she modeled. 
She will be missed by me and so many others. Sending you love and prayers during this difficult time.

Ms. Adams was my favorite teacher. She cultivated my interest in history, interweaving her own world travels and life experiences into her daily lessons. As a 9th grader, I found it so cool to learn Chinese and Russian history!

She made pathways for students to travel to Washington DC for a weeklong “Close Up” trip. (1996’s trip pictured here) She helped countless students sell candy and Avon to cover the cost of the trips. 

After high school, she continued to be a trusted adult in my life, hosting me and other classmates for multi-course dinners in her home as a way to keep tabs and keep encouraging her students.  At those dinners, she was always proud to share updates about her son Todd and her work for SPPS teachers retirement fund. 

Many years after having her as my teacher, I think of her big personality and welcoming spirit. May her memory continue on in the lives of her loved ones and her many students.

So very sorry for your loss.  Carol was part of our Loaves and Fishes group from Assumption and shared her time graciously.  Lovely lady.
