Born on a farm near Porter, Minnesota, she was an adventurous child, climbing a windmill at the age of 3. That spirit of adventure stayed with her as she moved to Duluth, Minnesota in her teens and fell in love with a handsome, curly- haired military man. They married and had 5 daughters, giving a life long example as to what a loving family was.
Intellectually curious, she had a large range of interests including traveling to Canada, Mexico, almost every state in America, and Norway. Her faith in God was strong, living it by words and deeds, and her family knew they were loved greatly, as she stated it often.
She went to Heaven to be with her husband Bernard, parents Bernt and Lillian Toov, brothers Orval, Warren, and Clifford Toov, and son-in-law Mark Wielde. She is greatly missed by her loving family: Kathleen Wielde, Margie (Ron) Kuchenmeister, Debra (Glen) Grube, Wendy ( Randy) Peterfeso, Sue (Dan) Hefta, 11 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and sister Marjorie (Jim) Haugen.
A Celebration of Life for Evelyn will be held June 1st, 2026 at East Immanuel Lutheran Church at 1173 Payne Avenue at 11:00 a.m. with a visitation one hour before the service.
