Passed away on March 11th 2011. He was welcomed home by son, Greg; parents, Louis and Ruth, siblings, Buddy, Helen Mae and mother-in-law, Grandma O. He will be forever missed by loving wife of 60 years, Mary; daughter, Diane and son, Michael (Colleen); grandsons, Jay and Corey, sisters-in-law, Patricia Seidl and Lois Horvath; many nieces, nephews, cousins and good friends. He loved spending time with his family and friends, playing golf and being an honorary Irishman. John was a lifetime member of the Minnesota Pharmacists Assoc., 1st Marine Division Assoc. and DAV. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in November of 1942. During WWII, he served in the South Pacific for 2 1/2 years with the 1st Marine Division, B Company, 1st Battalion, 7th Regiment. He was a Peleliu survivor and was awarded the Purple Heart for wounds suffered during the battle of Okinawa. Mass of Christian Burial Tue. 3/15 at 11 a.m. Visitation 10 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 1801 LaCrosse Ave. at White Bear. Interment at Resurrection Cemetery in Mendota Heights.
