Leonard Earl McLoyd Sr (Lenny) passed away peacefully at home on November 7th 2021, shortly after celebrating his 81st birthday. He entered this world on October 25, 1940 in Vicksburg Mississipi, born to proud parents Albert and Bertha McLoyd.
Lenny was the oldest of 8 children and is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Anthony and John Wesley (J.W.); son Derek Keegan; granddaughter Sonne and among his many friends Michael Alston, Melvin Cooper, and Kathryn Thurston.
Lenny's biggest joy was his family. He is survived by: wife Diane; sisters Norma and Fyrne; brothers Robert, Jonathan, and Lawrence; sons Leonard Jr, Marc, and Adrian; daughters Britany, Kristin, and Caitlin. He also leaves behind 19 grandchildren and a growing number of great-grandchildren. His 20th grandchild will be born in mid-January 2022, and while he can’t be here he made assurances that he will be close by.
Lenny expressed his wishes to be cremated and to have his ashes scattered next spring into a favorite lake. "I’ve eaten a lot of fish out of there over the years, it is only fair that they take a bite out of me”
