My friend, my brother...my tears are done, my thoughts of you are filled with laughter and so many good memories and stories. You will remain forever in my heart. See you in heaven when God is done with me, and we'll pick up where we left off. Love ya bro.

Just missing you and Mike a lot! you guys will never be forgotten. At times I find my self living in the past and it is a comforting place to be. It makes me both happy and sad.

It will never be the same without you. I will never be the same, but wait for the rest of us we will be there soon enough and we will have the joy of being together again. Lets go fishing and dancing and chase rainbows and all the things we couldn't do when you got sick. Lets just go play. Tell the rest of them I said hi see you soon.

For Kay, I'm so sorry I can't do the pain very often and I hide it from you because the grief is so strong that I'm afraid if I open it up I won't be able to close it again so as I am sitting here at work with tears streaming down just know in your heart I am right there with you. If you need me call I'll be there.You are my sister when you said "I do" it was to family too.

To my dearest family, Some things I'd like to say,But first of all to let you know that I arrived okay, I'm writing this from heaven, Here i dwell with God above,Here's there's no more tears of sadness,here is just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight, remember that I'm with you every morning, noon, and night, That day I had to leave you when my life when my life on earth was through, God picked me up and hugged me and said, " I welcome you."
It's good to have you back again,you were missed while you were gone,As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on, I need you here badly, you're part of my plan, There's so much we have to do to help our mortal man.
God gave me a list of things that he wished for me to do, And foremost on that list is to watch and care for you, And when you lie in bed at night, the days chores put to flight, God and I are closest to you... in the middle of the night.
When you think of my life on earth and all those loving years, Because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears, but do not be afraid to cry, it does relieve the pain, remember there would be no flowers if there was no rain.
I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned, but if i were to tell you, you wouldn't understand, but one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er, I'm closer to you now than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb, but together we can do it by taking one day at a time, It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too, that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.
If you can help somebody whose in sorrow and pain, then you can say to God at night, "My day was not in vain.", and now I am contented that my life has been worthwhile, knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.
So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low, just lend a hand to pick him up as on your way you go, when you're walking down the street and you've got me on your mind, I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind, and when it's time for you to go from that body to be free, remember you're not going... you're coming home to me.

My husband and I met Lee and Kay at the VA hospital toward the end of his life. It was one of the most memorable experiences for me as I watched Lee reach out to everyone with kindness and a true interest and a caring spirit. He planned a Superbowl party in the hospital room and made an otherwise difficult time happy! Who else would have planned and carried that out except Lee and Kay. Nurses came in and danced with Beyonce and cheered for the teams and shared pizza! Lee showed me how to enjoy life...right now...where we are!

So sorry to hear of your loss.  He was one of those all around great guys and will be missed by all of us.  In my time to reflect since hearing of Lee's passing I've realized what a big influence he was in shaping who I am today. One way I'm shaped is how Lee showed me by example what a loving father and husband looks like. He cherished his friends but family was number one with Lee, especially his wife. 
I can recall many fond memories of Lee. Fishing is the obvious one, but  I'm suprised it seems the most memorable memories are the small ones. Like the drives in the van to the lake listening to Neil Diamond, Buffalo Springfield, and Frank Zappa. It was a long drive for young kids but Lee made them fun. He would say enthusiastically, "Look at all the sheep!" and we would look and they would be cows. I guess you had to be there but it really made us laugh. He would tell me funny things real seriously. He would say, "Louis! Michael! Always remember, wherever you are, there you are." or "You can pick your friends, you can pick your nose, but you can't pick your friend's nose." I say these things to my kids in the car today. 
Most of my experiences of the 80's was with Lee and Kay. I remember watching a lot of movies with them like "Predator","Die Hard", and "48 Hours".  I hold these memories very close and dear to me. 
It drives my wife crazy that I'm a chipper morning person. I remember that Lee was always the first one up in the morning. I have a picture in my mind that I will never forget when I think of Lee. He's standing on the dock just before sun up. It's foggy and the air is heavy and damp on your face. He has a cigerette in one hand and his fishing pole in the other staring out at the bobber. I try every chance I get to enjoy that serene peace found in the morning like he showed me.
I would like to think that I'm a lot like Lee. I strive to be like Lee, one of the "great guys" minus the cigerette.

We've lost a co-worker, humorist, fisherman, camper, handyman, and most of all a great friend.  We'll miss his generosity, story telling, ability to land us on fish (and cook up the catch of the day!) and his ability to make us feel right at home whenever we were together - in your home, the cabin, the houseboat, wherever. Big Lee is already missed.  And you are loved.  We extend our heartfelt sympathies to you.  Love, Shel and Kar
