Mark was born on Valentine’s Day, February 14, 1957, to Richard and Colleen Griffith. He grew up on the east side of St. Paul and graduated from Harding High School in 1975. Mark was well-known in school and loved his 1970 ’Cuda. After collecting more than a few “unnecessary acceleration” violations, his dad finally convinced him to sell it.
Soon after high school, Mark married his first wife, and together they had four sons: Brad, Jason, Tony, and Blake. Though his first marriage ended, Mark remained a devoted father and was always there for his boys.
In 1986, Mark met Sheri, who became his wife and life partner. Together they blended their families, raising his four boys alongside her son Kane. With five boys under one roof, life was busy and full of love. They spent countless hours in hockey arenas—where Mark also helped coach—and on baseball fields cheering the boys on.
Mark worked a variety of jobs before finding a career he loved at Metalcote Inc. in St. Paul. After Metalcote closed, he began working for Cenex Inc., where he became their #1 Blender. He retired in 2018, proud of his work and the lifelong friendships he built there.
Mark loved the outdoors, especially hunting. For more than 50 years, he made memories at Mahtowa deer camp with family and friends, where the laughter, stories, and campfires meant just as much as the hunt itself. In 2006, he purchased his parents’ lake home in Rutledge, a place that became his true sanctuary. The cabin grew into the heart of family gatherings, holidays, and traditions that will be cherished forever. Mark loved the Twins, the Wild, and the Vikings. He spent many Sundays yelling at the TV during Vikings games, and played fantasy football for many years, even winning a few times.
Mark’s life was rooted in family, hard work, and the simple pleasures that brought him joy. Whether it was time around a campfire, a pontoon ride, or sharing a story at the cabin, he created moments that will live on in our memory. Steady, dependable, and selfless, Mark was always ready to lend a hand—sometimes with a little fuss at first—but always with love.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Colleen. He is survived by his loving wife, Sheri; sons Brad, Jason (Tamara), Kane Aegerter, Tony (Amber), and Blake; siblings Sandi (Tom) Richie, Dawn (Donny) Cardenas, and Bruce (Jackie); grandchildren Bailey (Rachel), Austin, Alexus, Jordan, Devin, Mercedes, Gavin, Jacoby, and Tatum; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held Thursday, September 11, 2025, at Wulff Funeral Home, 1485 White Bear Ave N, Saint Paul, MN. Visitation 4:00–6:00 pm, and service at 6:00 pm.
Mark will be forever missed and always remembered with love.
