

Marvin J. Emeott, 80, of St. Paul passed away on Wednesday, July 19th in Golden Valley, MN. Survived by sons David, Matthew, and Philip, their spouses, and granddaughter Allison. A devoted son to his father and mother, Marion and Loretta Emeott, they preceded him in death along with his brother Peter. Also survived by brothers and sisters Paul, Richard, Susan, Jeanne, Nancy, and Linda and their family members.
As a young man Marvin worked at St. Paul Book and Stationary. He did research at General Mills. He also drove school bus in Washington D.C., the state of Oregon, and for the kids at Head Start in St. Paul.
An early interest in hot air ballooning led to sewing and piloting his own balloon across the east metro with support from family and friends. He received training in meteorology in the Naval Reserve and worked locally for Wiederkehr Ballooning for a time.
A kind and gentle man, Marvin was a man of faith, which showed itself in his compassion and care for people. He lived a simple life. He engaged with people easily and enjoyed making new acquaintances.
A graveside service will be held at Elmhurst Cemetery, 1510 Dale St. N. in St. Paul on Wed., Aug. 16th. Meet at the front gate at 3 p.m.
