A member of the greatest generation, Ray survived the flu epidemic of 1918, the Great Depression, and WWII, but finally passed on peacefully at age 94 after a long progression of "old age" related problems. Preceded in death by Marie, his Wife of 57 Years; and his Parents, Caroline and Fred. Survived by his Son, Jerry; "Sis", Alice; Four Grandchildren; Seven Great-Grandchildren; Many Nieces and Nephews; and Family Friend, Marcy. Ray was a loving husband and caretaker of Marie for her final years, a wonderful father to Jerry and "Bop Bop" to his grandchildren, a dedicated employee of 3M for over 42 years who started out shoveling coal in 1940 and retired as Human Relations instructor. An avid philatelist most of his life, a proud member of the U.S. Army who served with the 10th Mountain Division in Italy in 1944, a grower of award-winning iris and peonies, proud of his beautiful yard and garden, a great cook, a problem solver and general handyman who could "fix anything". He passed many of his interests, skills and abilities on to his son, Jerry. Ray will be sadly missed by all who knew him. Special thanks to Dr. Cain, the staff of Ramsey County Care Center and the Hospice Team. Visitation 4-6 PM on Wednesday, July 24 followed by memorial service at 6 PM at Wulff Funeral Home, 1485 White Bear Ave. Private interment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
