Gail, We only knew Bob from our class reunions and the week we spent at Pineridge. Each time we met we spent just about the whole evening catching up. I've read all the messages and Bob was truly loved. You both were so lucky to have each other. I wish we would have had more time to talk. You both are in our prayers.

We remember well our time to your resort with out kids.  I remember your smiling face working in my old office.  We are thinking of you and your family and would love to talk with you.

Our deepest sympathy at the loss of Bob. We have so many treasured summers with you and Bob at Pine Ridge. Most memorable going fishing at anytime of the day or night and just having great laughs. Singing around the campfires, and watching the talent shows. Bob was always full of life, with a huge heart for all and we loved him.

I was saddened to hear of Bob's journey ending this week. I am so glad I got to see him at the Sibley Class Reunion last year. Still had that twinkle in his eye and the wonderful smile. I will keep you all in my thoughts and prayers. Great high school memories to remember.

Uncle Bob was a very special uncle to us.  He has been instrumental in our lives from Pat’s summer at the cabin learning to drive, catch fish and god knows what else, through our wedding/family picnic/brat feed reception at Pine Ridge, through all the family gatherings over the years; Uncle Bob has been there with a big hug, a smile, a kind word, a good joke and a twinkle in his eyes. We have learned so much from him as how to be loving and supportive family, how to enjoy life, and how to keep humor and a positive attitude in both good and trying times.  

We take solace in the fact that we can simply shut our eyes and fond memories of Uncle Bob come streaming in.

On Uncle Bob’s last night as Pat and I were helping Gail and Matt with Bob, you could see him grimacing a bit in pain before the meds kicked in.  We took his hand and said, Bob “just think of the lake”.  We could feel this sense of calm and peace come over him.
     
Our family has many diverse religious beliefs, but we choose to think that Bob is now with Grandma and Grandpa Lyons, Dan and others kicking their butts at cribbage and enjoying some good jokes or sitting by the lake with Bruce beside him.  

He was a pillar in the Lyons family and is already so greatly missed.

I was deeply saddened by the news about the death of Bob. I am so very sorry.  

I only met Bob twice, but both times I thought what a kind person he was and what a good sense of humor.  I remember visiting you and Bob at your cabin with Jeanne and my niece Nolana, and we played the game trivial pursuit and Nolana and I had Bob on our team.  Any time Nolana and I weren't able to answer a question, Nolana and I would say give it to Bob, and of course he would be able to answer the questions with no problem.  We were amazed how smart and quick he was with his answers.

Someone so special... ...can never be forgotten.  May God bless you and your family during this time and always.

Dear Gail, Beth, Steve and the grandkids,
We found it hard to believe that we lost one of our best and most treasured friends. Bob was always there with a smile, a helping hand or a hug. At Pineridge it was such a treat when he came by Cabin 3 to visit. He loved our boys like his own, and we all loved him back. Scrabble will never be the same. Oh, the fun we all had! Those memories will keep him in our hearts forever.

Sorry to hear about your dad's passing. Although I never met him, it is obvious you were lucky to have a dad like him.

Whenever we think of Bob, we will smile as we remember the fun person he was. His legacy lives on in the lives of his children and grandchildren, and at Pineridge where he most certainly left his mark. We will miss him, but are so thankful to have counted him as a friend. Dear Gail, Steve, Beth, and all of the family and friends of Bob:

Bob is one of the people we were blessed to have in our lives that we truely won't forget.  It is often said when someone passes that they won't ever be forgotten, then time diminishes that sentiment.  It won't be so with Bob, for he made such a good and fond impression on all who spent some time with him.  He carried the legacy of his parents Byron and Ruth during their lifetime and after, as a warm and welcoming person always willing to give a hand, give of himself and leave you wanting to see him again.  Not to mention that he was always a lot of fun too.

To me (Harlan), I met him because he is a first cousin, but I thought of him as a friend who happened to be a relative.  Someone that I always looked forward to seeing the next time.  That's just the kind of guy he is.  We had a unique rapport of understanding each other even though we grew up many miles apart.  I believe that was somehow passed down from Ruth and my father John (Jack), siblings, and their parents.

Bob may not have spent a lot of time in church, but he lived God's will.  Many do the opposite.  Here is hoping that I learned something from his example.

We knew, we loved, we won't forget you Bob,

I'm so sorry to hear of your loss.  I have wonderful memories, including when Bob kindly sailed my mom's new sailboat "around the corner" from the resort into our bay for her birthday!  He'll always be remembered at Deer Lake.

It was great to meet you "bumps". I have heard so much about you and your adventures! Say hi to the big guy and my father as well! I miss him dearly! Pineridge is here to stay with or without you, but I know you will be there! :) RIP.
