Dr. Sos was a Neurosurgeon (Cincinnati, 1974) and spent many years in solo private practice in Canton, Ohio. He later accepted a position as clinical faculty Neurosurgeon at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque. He had been living in Tampa, since his retirement in 2007. He was the son of lauded Spanish geologist and naturalist, Vicente Sos Baynat, PhD. Later in his life, Dr. Sos published his father’s biography, detailing the trials and struggles of internal exile following the Spanish Civil War.
The family will hold a memorial service at Gonzalez Funeral Home, Sunday, February 28th at 7pm.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara A. Sos; his children, Melissa A. Sos, MD, Monica A. Sos, and Alexander M. Sos; his four grandchildren, Sofia A. Shafii, Gabriella A. Shafii, Alexis G. Shafii, and Lauren Conley.
