Leto, Anna, 93, died Tuesday September 25, 2018 leaving a loving circle of family and friends. Anna Lillian Maggio was born May 15, 1925 in Brooklyn, NY where, as a young girl she met and married her late husband, Frank D. Leto, a Tampa native. They married August 25, 1945, shortly after WWII ended and Frank came home from service in Italy. They had a loving marriage and lived happily together for 62 years. In 1963, they moved to Tampa to be closer to their large Sicilian family. They became members of St. Lawrence Catholic Church, led by the late Monsignor Higgins, and joined the choir. Ann, as she was known by her lifelong friends, was the oldest and longest member of the church choir prior to falling ill with the flu in January 2018. She is survived by her five children: Frank, Ellen, Robert, Loretta and Nanette; five grandchildren: Christopher, Kimberly, Kellen, Michael and Grace; and five great-grandchildren: Marcus, Beux, Zoe, Jayden and Kamari. A mass will be held 10:00am Monday October 1, 2018 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, located on the corner of Hillsborough Avenue and Himes Avenue. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the St. Lawrence Church Choir. Arrangements entrusted to Gonzalez Funeral Home, Tampa.
