
Anthony Julio Grimaldi (Juli) 82, passed away March 14. He was a lifelong resident of Tampa and the son of the late Anthony and Rose Grimaldi. Juli was a 1952 graduate of Jefferson High School. He served in the United States Army for two years, stationed in Japan. Upon his return to the states, he joined his family’s bank, The Columbia Bank, serving as the senior vice president. He was a founder of the Northwestern Bank, which was later sold to the Bank of Tampa. He was also active in the Civitan Club of Ybor City, holding various positions in that organization. He later worked for a number of Las Vegas hotels coordinating junkets to these hotels. Juli was a gregarious man, who enjoyed entertaining people with his witticisms and his penchant for playful pranks. He will be greatly missed by his sister Stella Lopez (Joe), his four children: Toni Lynn, Anthony John(Karen), Francine and TJ (Abby) as well as his grandchildren: Justin Levine, Simone, Celeste and Gianni Grimaldi and several nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his older brother, John Andrew Ray and his eldest grandson, Jordan Levine. The family also wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Cindy Luciani and her family who lovingly cared for Juli until his death There will be a private graveside burial Friday at 1:30pm at Myrtle Hill Cemetery at the Grimaldi plot.
