

65, passed away on September 8, 2015 from a sudden cerebral stroke. He was born in Ybor City on May 2, 1950 and moved to McKay Ave Tampa where he lived most of his life. He attended Christ the King, Jesuit High School and Loyola College, New Orleans. Bobby was a photographer who studied with Ansel Adams in California and spent a year at the Photographic Institute in New York. He worked for many years as a celebrated photojournalist at the Sun-Sentinel in Fort Lauderdale before moving back to Tampa as a freelance journalist and mentor to many younger photographers. Bobby loved Paris. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dr. Efrain and Angela Azmitia. Bobby will be sadly missed by his daughters, Angela and Christina (mother, Janie Azmitia); brother, Prof. Efrain Azmitia (Patricia); nephew Charles Azmitia; nieces: Grace Azmitia Perez (Alvaro), Anthea Martin (Jeremy) and Bianka Azmitia; cousins: Dr. Joseph Valenti (Pauline), Irene Haya (Daniel), Carol Earnest, MaryAnn Hoffman and Salvador Gutierrez; and many others in Antigua, Guatemala. Visiting time will be from 5-7pm on Friday, Sept 11. A Celebration of Life at 4pm on Saturday, Sept 12th, with a reception to follow. All events will take place at Blount & Curry, MacDill, 605 S. MacDill Ave, Tampa, FL. The family requests that guests dress casually to convey Bobby’s love of life. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Florida Rat Terrier Rescue.
