Dr. Carlos Manuel Torres Negron

Dr. Carlos Manuel Torres-Negron, M.D., 68, passed away on January 17, 2024. He was born in Manati, Puerto Rico; earned a Doctor of Medicine degree from Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City, NY; met the love of his life, Bethzaida Torres, in Puerto Rico during his residency, and raised a loving family in Tampa, FL. He always loved to serve and care for his patients, with a humble heart, during his career as an Internal Medicine Physician and retired in 2021. Being of Catholic faith, Carlos dearly loved Jesus Christ. Carlos was known as a self-less, loving, generous, and devoted husband, father, grandfather, friend, etc. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. God bless you, Carlos, and we all look forward to seeing you in Heaven. We will always keep you in our hearts.

Carlos was predeceased by his niece, Elizabeth Rosa Torres (deceased 2005); his father, Jaime Torres Marrero (deceased 2014); his niece, Jessica Marie Torres (deceased 2015); and his mother, Carmen Rosa Torres (deceased 2021).

Carlos is survived by his wife, Bethzaida Torres (Tampa, FL); his sons, Dr. Carlos Manuel Torres, Jr. (San Diego, CA), Richard Anthony Torres (Sacramento, CA), Miguel Angel Torres (Tampa, FL); his daughter, Crystal Marie Torres, RN (Tampa, FL); his granddaughter, Yasmia Gonzalez (Tampa, FL); his brother, James Arnaldo Torres (Tampa, FL), his sister-in-law, Beatriz Torres (Tampa, FL); his nephews, James Arnaldo Torres, Jr. (Huntsville, AL) and David Raymond Torres, RN (Felton, Delaware); his grandnephews, James William Torres, Carson Anthony Torres, Christian Miles Torres; and his grandniece, Everly Rosa Torres.

Carlos is also survived by many loving family members and dear friends in the United States and Puerto Rico.

The family wishes to thank all the caretakers and health care professionals from St. Joseph's Hospital - North, St. Joseph's Hospital - Main, AdventHealth Connerton, and the Marliere Hospice House.

A visitation for Carlos will be held Tuesday, January 23, 2024 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Gonzalez Funeral Home, 7209 North Dale Mabry Highway, Tampa, FL 33614.
