

Escobar, Carmen Maria 57, of Tampa, beloved Daughter, Sister, Aunt, Cousin and Friend, passed away peacefully on August 23, 2015, with her family at her side. Carmen was born in Havana, Cuba, to Julio Cesar and Carmen Sanchez Escobar on September 29, 1957, and was the second of four children. Her family immigrated to Tampa in 1961. Carmen was a Certified Nursing Assistant, speechwriter and a home caregiver. Carmen had a fun-loving spirit, was very nurturing and loved her friends and family dearly. She especially treasured her nieces as her own. She was very creative and enjoyed movies, writing poetry, ceramics and was learning embroidery. She graduated from Plant High School where she was the recipient of the Panther Award in Foreign Languages by mastering Spanish, French and Portugese. She earned an Associates degree and Nursing Certification. Carmen was preceded in death by her father, Julio Cesar, Sr. and her brother, Julio Cesar, Jr. She is survived by her loving family, mother Carmen Escobar Florido, stepfather, Evelio Florido, sisters Terri Bieberbach (Gayle), Yvette Payne (Kevin), nieces Erika, Gabrielle, Madeline, her sister-cousin Hope Sayre (Joseph), her uncle Orlando Sanchez of Cuba and other family in Cuba and throughout the U.S. Carmen will be missed dearly but we know she is healthy and rejoicing with our Lord. Funeral mass will be at Incarnation Church, 5124 Gateway Dr. at 11:00AM on Thursday, August 27. Interment will follow at Myrtle Hill Memorial Park.
