

Charles “Goosby” Jones, 82, passed away November 16, 2014 in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was born in 1932 in Tampa, where he was educated at Middleton High School. He completed his education receiving a bachelor’s degree from Florida A&M University. Goosby worked as a teacher and later was the Director of Community Relations for the City of Tampa. He retired from his position with the Equitable Insurance Company. He has received numerous awards and recognition and has earned a place of respect and love in the hearts of his fellow men. He is the son of the late Goosby and Maria Jones of Tampa and preceded by his brother Joseph G. Jones. He is survived by his wife Deborah, children Tyrone Jones and wife Danielle, Charles I. Jones Jr., Michael Jones and wife Holly, and Daryll Young. He also leaves his sister Mrs. Evelyn Jones Wilson, as well as, several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, one niece, two nephews, and extended family and friends. Visitation and services will be held on Tuesday, November 25 at Christ the King, located at 821 S. Dale Mabry Hwy, Tampa, FL 33609. A Rosary Service will be held at 9:00 am, followed by a viewing at 9:30 am, and a funeral mass. The burial will be held privately.
