I knew Dave from Rawlinson Rd Jr High and we graduated from Northwestern High School together. It was an honor to have known him. He was in my homeroom classes throughout school and was a genuine person. I will keep the entire Blackerby family in my prayers. Have peace knowing that Dave is free from any illness now and will always be with you.

Dave was one of my band students at Rawlinson Road Jr. High.  He was a great guy, and I have often wondered about him over the years.  It is with great sadness that I saw his name listed in the Herald today.  The posts make it obvious that he was a person of many talents, creative, loved, and respected by his co-workers and friends.  I wish I had had the opportunity to follow his work over the years.  May God bless all of his family and give you peace at this difficult time.

Davis started at The Tampa Tribune the day before I did -- 25 years ago. I worked with him for many years, then he left. He came back years later, and I worked with him again for several years. He was always smiling and had a great sense of humor. He had a kind and gentle spirit. I e-mailed him about a year ago when his daughter's name appeared in the The Tribune for being in the top 3% of her graduating class. I could tell he was SO proud of his 2 girls. He loved his family so much! Nora, Savanna and Olivia, I am so sorry for your loss. I am keeping your family in my thoughts and prayers.

Dave was a generous, loving, and happy guy. He always made me laugh at school. I was privileged to have been his friend through two different schools. Love and Prayers going out to his wife and family. We miss you Dave.

As Davis' sister-in-law for the past 20 years, I have had the honor of observing his love for my sister and two nieces. His wonderful sense of humor kept a smile on all of our faces. His Godly example was a blessing in my life. He will be greatly missed and I know that he is rejoicing in his Father's house.

Nora, Savanna & Olivia,

I lost a wonderful brother but you lost a beloved husband and father.  He was so very proud of you and loved you so much.  You enriched his life immensely.  Please know that we are here for you to encourage, support and pray for you.  You will always be very dear to us. May the Lord bless you and keep you, make his face to shine upon you and give you peace!

Please know that my prayers are with the Blackerby family during this time.  I went to high school with Dave at Northwestern in Rock Hill, SC and even though I have not seen him since then, I remember his great sense of humor and all around friendly personality.  I know Dave will be truly missed here on earth.

Nora, Dave is my cousin (Daves dad and my dad are bothers).. my husband and I came to your wedding and we saw then what a great love you had for each other. It is with great sadness that I heard of his illness and subsequent passing. Please know our heart and prayers are with you and your daughters. He was always fun to be around at family gatherings. I only met you and Dave once, when you were here in Rock Hill Memorial Day weekend. I thought you were both so nice and such a lovely couple. I know that Dave will be missed by you and your whole family. I pray that God will give you all the strength to deal with such a loss.

The Northwestern High School class of '83 send their love and prayers to Dave's family. Dave was a classmate, friend, and neighbor of mine. He was so kind, sweet, and funny. He will never be forgotten.

It is with a heavy heart that I express my deepest sympathy.  I had the pleasure to work with Davis at AAA and fondly recall our chats about his beautiful Savanna and Olivia.  I remember when we met Nora, Davis was beaming with pride as he introduced you... His lovely wife!  He loved his work but he loved his family more!

It's so terrible to hear this news. Here at AAA, we all really loved Davis. I was lucky to sit next to him during his time at AAA and really enjoyed sharing the space with him. He was a man with immense talent and he inspired me. He was so funny and constantly made everyone laugh. I feel lucky to have known him. My thoughts and prayers are with the whole family.
