She was a member of the National Honors Society and Chorus while in school, as well as, an honor roll student each year impressively. She was preceded in death by her father, Frank Whitten; mother, Jeanette Gunning; and brothers, Jimmy Whitten, and Bill Gunning. She is survived by her children, Gregory Norris and Jacquelyn Norris; grandchildren: Erica Welch, Marlena Norris, Aurelius Rush, Maggie Norris; mom, Yvonne "Jackie" Whitten-Bowen, (who was her best friend); brothers, Edward Gunning and Frank Whitten, and their families respectively; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
