Dorothy C. Gonzalez

Dorothy Cortez Gonzalez, 83 of Ocala Florida, passed away on 30 April 2013 of natural causes. She was born in Enigma, Georgia, and moved to Florida as a young girl. She and her loving husband, Mario, of 60 years, married and lived in Tampa, Florida, until they retired. In 1995 they moved to Ocala National Forest. Dorothy was a sweet loving mother, wife and grandmother. She was also a member of Forest Baptist Church and along with her husband, worked as missionaries with Teen Missions taking Christian teens into different countries, doing work for our Lord, Jesus Christ. She was the secretary, treasurer of their general construction company, where she assisted her husband in building and renovating commercial buildings. Dorothy is survived by daughter, Teri Simmons, and three sons, Mario Jr, Michael and Mark. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, Matthew, Amanda, Phillip, Eric, Alisa, Phillip and Wesley. Dorothy was the daughter of Armetta and Joseph Owens of Enigma, Georgia. She was preceded in death by brothers, Bruce, Sonny, Jimmy, Jackie, Norman and sister, Rosalee. Family members will receive friends and family Friday, May 3rd, with a viewing between 6 pm and 9 pm and interment Saturday May 4th at 11 am at Centro Asturiano. Gonzalez Funeral Home 7209 N.
