Elena Palma, 100, of Tampa, Florida passed away peacefully in her home on April 21, 2025. Elena was born in Havana, Cuba, where she was educated at the American Dominican Academy and attended business school. She then moved to Syracuse, New York with her husband and two children, and worked in the insurance industry. In the late 1960’s, Elena moved with her family to Tampa, Florida, and continued her work in the insurance industry as head of human resources. She was a loving and caring person who enjoyed life fully until the end. Following her retirement, she spent much of her time volunteering and participating in activities at her local Barksdale Senior Citizen Center. Elena loved to sing and dance, and regularly participated in talent shows held by the senior center. It is safe to say that Elena brought a smile to the faces of all who knew her. She will be greatly missed by her children, Salvador, Laida Garcia (Manuel), grandchildren Marcos Garcia (Jennifer) and Katherine Stephens (Hunter), and three great-grandchildren: Matthew, Ryan and Robert. She is predeceased by her loving husband of 48 years, Salvador, and a sister, Dulce Fernandez of Solvay, New York.
Elena was a parishioner at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Tampa.
The family would like to thank the members of LIFEPATH Hospice, Burgundy Team, for their loving care and support.
