Eugene was born in El Viso, Spain and came to Tampa when he was 3 years old. He loved Tampa, however would return to Spain for the first time in 1978 and would go on to build a home with his father in his beloved pueblo of Outomuro.
He is preceded in death by his parents Jaime Eugenio and Filomena Rodriguez. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Cynthia; his son Eugene Louis (Candice), grandchildren Demi, Sevi and Scottie, Christina Maria, and Gina Marie Azzarelli (Austin) and grandchildren Emma and Eli. He is also survived by his sisters Maria Del Carmen Shedrick (Mia Brisco, Peter Lopez, Tony Lopez) and Esperanza "Hope" Shaw (Billy Shaw).
Eugene was an Union Insulator by trade belonging to Local 67. Eugene was also a home builder. Building and remodeling many homes in Tampa in the 70's and 80'S. Eugene and Cynthia owned and operated Kids Clubhouse, Inc for the next 30 years. He retired in June of 2019.
A celebration of his life is scheduled for Monday, October 28th, from 4pm -7pm at Blount and Curry Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers those wishing may please make a donation to Metropolitan Ministries Food Pantry.
