

Dr. Frank A. Massari passed away on August 29, 2021 at the age of 97. He was born on April 27, 1924 in Tampa, Florida. He was preceded in death by his parents Andrew and Lilly Massari. Frank graduated as Valedictorian from Jesuit High School and went on to graduate from St. Louis University where he also earned his medical degree from the School of Medicine. After 4 years of hospital training as an intern and resident at Philadelphia General Hospital, he served as a Captain in the United States Air Force, including active duty in Korea. He then returned to Tampa where he practiced medicine for 44 years, touching countless lives. Frank was a devout Catholic and member of Christ the King parish. His affiliations included the Hillsborough County Medical Association, the Florida Medical Association, the American Medical Association, and the American College of Physicians. He was a long time member of Palma Ceia Golf and Country Club. He had a special interest in Sports Medicine and served as team physician for Jesuit High School as well as the Tampa Bay Bandits of the United States Football League. He was honored as the Jesuit High School Alumnus of the Year in 1997. Frank was married to his loving first wife, Rose, who passed away in 2002. He is survived by his wife and great love, Margo, and children Dr. Frank (Jayne) Massari Jr., Michael and Patrick (MaryBeth) Massari and Susan (Roy) Massari-Cohn as well as step-sons John (Kim) and Kenny (Vanessa) Fernandez. He also left behind grandchildren Adam (Nikki) and Alex (Shannon) Cohn, Andrew Massari, Chelsea (Ethan) Alkon, Allison (Brian) Collera, John Morgan (Laura), Ashley, K.J. and Christopher Fernandez as well as sister-in-law Carmen Bernstein and many loving cousins. Grandpa Frank will be missed every day. The family would like to thank Dr. Kent Corral and his staff for their compassionate care. A private Catholic Mass for his immediate family will be celebrated. To honor his memory, donations may be made to Jesuit High School or by having a Mass offered on his behalf.
