George is survived by his wife Linda Jordan; children: Michael Jordan of Billings, Montana and Kimberly Jordan Hersey of Tampa, Florida; grandsons: Adam, Nicholas, Luke, Caleb and Daniel; great grand-daughters: Lilith and Carmela.
George was born on April 23, 1942 in Memphis, Tennessee to George E Jordan II and Mattie Floy Powers Jordan. He married Linda, the love of his life, in 1968. He spent 22 years in the United States Navy as an Aviation electronics technician, retiring as a Chief Petty Officer. The couple welcomed two children into their home and George set about teaching them to be responsible and self-sufficient. His children remember him as a wise and dedicated father who always encouraged them to work hard and get a good education.
George was accomplished at everything mechanical and could fix just about anything. He was a generous individual who loved teaching others and who was passionate about politics. He was an active and adventurous soul that always found ways to get involved in community or point out injustices. He was on a life-long journey to educate himself on every topic and spent hours researching and applying all of the knowledge he gained.
