A native of Tampa, Gilbert was a United States Navy veteran and retired from Wonder Bread Bakery. After retirement he enjoyed traveling with his wife Edith, scuba diving, karate, art, bowling, gardening and most of all spending time with family. He loved learning new things and taking on challenges (beating his grandkids every single time they played any kind of board games).
He was the most kindhearted person and would always go out of his way to help others. There was never a person to meet him and not love him. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him.
Gilbert was preceded in death by his parents Edmundo and Angelica, his wife Edith, and step-daughter Cheryl Forshay. He is survived by his daughter Gail Roussey (Ronald), granddaughter Jennifer Collins (Edward), grandson Joshua Seward, and granddaughter Katelin Forshay.
