Gwendolyn Alvenia Elliott

Gwendolyn “Gwen” Elliott, 60, passed on January 15, 2022, at St Joseph’s Hospital in Tampa, FL. Visitation will be held at 9 am on January 29, 2022, at Blount &Curry MacDill. Funeral services will begin at 10 am.

Gwendolyn was born August 8, 1961, in Walterboro, South Carolina, to Ulysce and Ella-Ree (Burgess) Elliott.

Gwendolyn grew up in Miami, FL. She graduated from Miami Springs High School Class of 1979. After high school, she worked at Eckerd Drug Store, National Rental, and Budget Rental Car where she retired in 2001. She was also a foster mother to children in Miami-Dade County for over 30 years.

Gwendolyn married George Hayden, Sr. in 1985 in Miami, FL. They were married for 8 years. She enjoyed cooking, cleaning, and taking care of her family.

Gwendolyn was preceded in death by Ulysce Sr., Ella-Ree, Jimmy Lee, and George Sr.

Gwendolyn is survived by her stepmother Rose Elliott; her children George(Danielle) Hayden, Jr; Julius (Shakeiva) Hayden; Ruben (Peta-Gay) Hayden; Raylyn Hayden; Marcus Hayden; her siblings Ulysce Elliott, Jr.; Billy (Lyn) Elliott; Kenny Elliott; Terry (Sheria) Elliott; Angie McClennon; her grandchildren Julius Hayden,Jr.; Amaya Hayden; Shariah Hayden; Kenyan Hayden; Breana Hayden; Jaliyah Hayden; Tamia Hayden; Kyler James; Jadayah Hayden; Camila Hayden. A host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
