Adams, Howard Walter Jr. passed away on Monday, September 29th at Tampa General Hospital, where he was born August 30, 1931. Howard graduated from Hillsborough High School, class of 1949. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, and served in the Korean War. Howard worked for National and Pan American Airlines at Tampa International Airport for 38 years, where he was known fondly as “Jerry.” He enjoyed his regular meeting with the National/Pan Am Retirees Group in Tampa. Howard was also a member of the National Association of Realtors. Howard was preceded in death by his parents, Howard Walter Adams Sr. and Alma Dorsett Adams, and his sister Frances Lorraine Adams. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Anna Mercedes (Dee) Adams; his son Howard Walter Adams III (Carrie); and his two granddaughters Amanda Elaine Adams Halks (Patrick) and Megan Anna Adams. Howard was a good natured, kindhearted man, who will be dearly missed. A Memorial Service will be held at Blount & Curry Funeral Home on S. MacDill Ave. at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, October 17th. Interment will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Howard’s name to the USF Health Heart Institute Fund.
