IN THE CARE OF
James “Dean” Nelson, 66, passed away on May 5, 2026. Born in La Mesa, California, Dean was raised in Tampa, Florida, where he spent most of his life surrounded by family and friends.
Dean retired from Hillsborough County Schools after many years of dedicated service. He was known as a sweet and caring person who brought kindness and warmth to those around him. Dean will be remembered for his gentle spirit, his caring heart, and the love he shared with family and friends.
He is survived by his loving sisters, Deborah Rebello (John) and Barbara "Jane" Martinez (Tommy) and his nephews Thomas, Jody and Jordan. Dean was preceded in death by his parents, Obie and Barbara Nelson.
Dean will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
