On Oct. 22, 2015 Jeff began his journey into forever following a three-year battle with cancer. During this time, he never complained and continued to live life to its fullest, as he always had, spending time with his family and friends. His fight spoke of his quiet courage and inner strength. Jeff has gone to join his mother, Maryann Kitlas, who predeceased him. He was surrounded by family and friends when he passed at home.
Jeff is survived by his loving wife, Nancy; daughter, Katie; father, Hank Kitlas; stepdaughter, Ali Mathews; sisters, Chris Primarolo, Marybeth Kondzielawa and her husband Ted; and his brother, Paul Kitlas; nieces and nephews, Lauren (husband, Sam) Lindsay, Jenna , Jay, Teddy and Alex.
He possessed a variety of talents. As a teen he rebuilt and painted cars, motorcycles and trucks. Woodworking was another of his many talents. He loved nothing better than taking part in these activities with his father.
After high school he attended SUNY POLYTECHNIC INSTITUTE in Utica, NY where he majored in mechanical engineering. He last worked at ICC of Largo as a lead project engineer.
Jeff and Nancy loved to entertain, the highlight of an evening with them was Jeff’s cooking.
Jeff was a great friend and neighbor to many, as well as a cherished member of Ye Mystic Krewe of Neptune. Jeff touched the lives of all.
The family would like to thank LifePath Hospice, and especially Janet and Belinda for their loving care of Jeff. Also a special thanks to Melvin Shackelford for his special care of Jeff during his last days.
He will be missed, but never forgotten, by his family and friends. To know Jeff, was to love him.
The family requests, in lieu of flowers, that donations be made to LifePath Hospice or the charity of your choice.
