

Rodriguez, Jisleno, “Leno” passed away Friday, September 18, 2015 at home with his family and friends. He was born in Tampa “Ybor City” on April 23 1926. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Evelyn Rodriguez; and his daughter Karen Rodriguez, nieces Dini Lopez, Yolanda Lopez and nephew Jesse Rodriguez. Leno also had many great nieces and nephews. He was on the board of the Krewe of Sant’ Yago and was a past king. Leno was a self made business man; owning a car lot and numerous bars. Leno strongly believed in education and served on the board of the Krewe of Sant’ Yago Education foundation to support less-fortunate students at Hillsborough Community College, University of South Florida and the University of Tampa. Leno was a veteran of World War ll while serving in the United States Navy. Leno loved life! He was always ready to travel and see the world. One of his favorite places was Spain and went quite often. We would like to thank Angels Health Care for providing a wonderful service during this hard time. They treated my father with love and dignity. A visitation will be held on Friday from 5-8 at Blount and Curry, 605 S. MacDill Ave. Funeral will be on Saturday September 26 at 10:00 AM. At the Centro Austuriano Cemetery 5402 E. MLK Blvd. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to the Sant’ Yago Education Foundation, PO Box 5037 Tampa Florida 33675.
