81, passed away Monday, March 26, 2018. A native of Havana, Cuba, he was a resident of Tampa since 1960. He was a graduate of Colegio Baldor and St. Thomas of Villanova Catholic University in Havana, Cuba.
He was a practicing architect in Tampa for over 40 years. He was a founding partner of RMBR and later, Rañon & Partners Architects, Inc. He then continued his career at the Hillsborough County School Board and Wilder Architecture, Inc. He was predeceased in death by his devoted and loving wife of 55 years, Clara R. Ramirez and his parents Francisco and Esther Ramirez. He is survived by his children, Clara Alfonso (Robert), Jorge L. Ramirez (Christina), Danny Ramirez (Julie) and Lourdes R. DeCarlo (Jim); grandchildren, Robbie, Daniel, and Gabriella Alfonso; Ronnie and Julianne Ramirez; Isabella, Max and Marisa Ramirez; Dominic, Vincent and Lorenzo DeCarlo. Jorge was an active parishioner at both Christ The King and Nativity Catholic Churches. He faithfully served as a Mass usher, a Eucharistic Minister and volunteered with his family at the Sunday Cafe. We will remember our Papi and our “Lelo” for his loving, gentle and humble spirit and his unwavering dedication to his family. Visitation will be held Thursday April 5, 2018 from 6-8pm with a prayer service at 7:15PM, at Blount & Curry Funeral Home, 605 S. MacDill Ave., Tampa. A Catholic Funeral Mass will take place at 10:00AM on Friday April 6, 2018 at Christ The King Catholic Church, 821 S. Dale Mabry Hwy., with burial immediately following at Myrtle Hill Cemetery.
