Josefina Mauriz Gonzalez, 87, passed away May 4, 2013. Born in Tampa June 1, 1925, but raised in Spain, returned years later after she was married. She was a wonderful, quiet and caring lady. Preceded in death by her loving husband, Jose Laureano Gonzalez, native of Sevilla, Spain, they lived many years in Tampa, also her parents Juan & Josefina Mauriz of Galicia, Spain and Tampa, her brother, John Mauriz of Barcelona, Spain and her sister, Consuelo Mauriz-Lopez, Tampa and son-in-law, Steve Rawlins.
She is survived by her daughter, Sylvia Gonzalez Rawlins and son, Fernando Gonzalez of Arz, who both loved her very much and will miss her very much. Also, her brother Clement Mauriz and sister-in-law, Lucy Mauriz of Tampa, sister-in-law, Marisa Mauriz of Spain, niece, Christina and great niece, Evana, grandchildren, Brian, Larry, Sara, Ali and Monica, also great grandchildren and one great great grandchild, Emilo. She will be missed by all. A special thanks to Hospice “Teal Team” and Marias ALF.
Honoring her wishes there will be no services.
