Judith (Judy) Baldwin Hutcheson Vore passed away peacefully in her sleep on March 1, 2023, in her home in Tampa Florida. She was 95 ½ years old, born in New York City, on August 11, 1927, to Dr. Horace Baldwin and Florence Reed Baldwin. She was a proud graduate of The Brearley School, NYC and Vassar College. After college, she went to France with The Experiment in International Living, of Putney, Vermont. She loved this organization whose mission was to improve cross cultural understanding. She became a leader for The Experiment and took many young adults abroad, introducing them to richness of connecting deeply with other countries and cultures. She had a passion for travel and had many adventures in the U.S. and abroad with her beloved late husband of 44 years, Clellan Odell (Dell) Vore, Jr. She passed on her love of people and travel to her four daughters: Dr. Mary Lee (Mimi) Hutcheson (Kathy), Nancy Hutcheson Harris, Jill Hutcheson Shepard (David) all of Tampa, and Holly Hutcheson McRae (John), of Blue Lake, CA and to her beloved grandchildren: Laura Shepard of NYC, Sarah Shepard Ricca (Ryan) of Tampa, Drew Shepard of Sarasota, Reed Hutcheson, Will McRae and Finn McRae of San Diego. Judy was preceded in death by her brother, Horace Reed Baldwin, her infant son, James Byron Hutcheson, III and her former husband, Dr. James Byron Hutcheson, II. She lived life fully with a contagious sense of optimism and humor. Style was important to Judy and one knew always to match their colors before visiting since there would always be a good humored “fashion commentary”. She loved bridge, afternoon tea time, (with cookies), watching tennis and pro football, the Golden Girls, Judge Judy and to sing showtunes and hymns, with great gusto. She will be missed by many, especially her devoted friend Lillie Mae Kemp of Tampa. Judy was a force that filled the room with positivity, and she touched many lives. Her spirit will remain in our hearts forever. With heartfelt gratitude, the family would like to thank the amazing love, care and cajoling of Judy’s main caregiver and new best friend, Mildred Lynn, who loved Judy like her own mother. The family also wishes to thank the other caregivers who were part of “Team Judy” the past years: Faith Norris, Chicquita Martin, Ann Wagner, Jenny Perez, Elizabeth Graddick and Sharnee Cannon. Special appreciation to Harold (Casey) Casey, who was always there to fix anything and to make her smile. The celebration of life will be at 5:00 pm, Monday, March 27, 2023 at Blount Curry funeral home 605 S MacDill Ave. Tampa, FL. In lieu of flowers and in honor of Judy’s passions, please consider a donation to the Humane Society of Tampa, The Experiment in International Living, or the United Cerebral Palsy of Tampa Bay, Inc.
