With profound sorrow, we announce the tragic and unexpected passing of Laurentiu (Lau) Octavian Vlad, of Tampa, who departed this life on December 30st, 2025 at the age of 50. A visionary man, beloved husband, and devoted father, he left this world far too soon, but his legacy will live on through all who knew and loved him.
Lau was a beloved husband of his wife of 25 years, Eva Vlad, and a proud and loving father to Robert and Tara. Family was the center of Lau’s life, and he never missed an opportunity to show up for them. He was their biggest supporter, quiet protector, and constant source of encouragement.
Lau lived a life defined by purpose, curiosity, and compassion. He was a visionary in every sense- always looking ahead, always imagining what could be better, and inspiring others through his ideas, work, and example. His work was never just about financial success, but about creating something meaningful and lasting.
He was also known for his steady presence, kind heart and unwavering integrity. Lau found joy in everything that he did. Some of his countless hobbies were skiing, hiking, driving fast cars, fishing, boating, scuba diving, reading, history and watching sports. He often shared these passions with family and friends. These moments reflected who he truly was- thoughtful, creative, and fully present. His guidance, wisdom, humor and strength will be deeply missed.
Lau was also a loyal and generous friend. He built deep lasting friendships rooted in trust, humor, and genuine care. Friends remember him as someone who listened without judgement, offered wise counsel, and showed up-steadfastly and wholeheartedly- in both joyful and difficult times. His circle of friends was an extension of his family, and their bond was a source of great pride and happiness to him.
Above all, Lau was a family man. As a husband he was a devoted partner and constant source of strength and happiness. As a father, he was loving, patient, and endlessly proud, guiding his children with wisdom, encouragement, and unconditional love. His family was the center of his world and his greatest achievement.
Those who knew Lau will remember his warmth, insight, and ability to make others feel truly seen and valued. His love of life, laughter, vision, and presence will be deeply missed, but his spirit will remain alive in the lives he touched.
Though his time with us was brief, his impact was immensurable. Laurentiu will be remembered always, loved forever, and missed beyond words.
Laurentiu is survived by his wife, two children, his beloved dog Kojax , his mother and his brother.
