

Linda Lou Davis of Tampa, Florida, passed away on January 19, 2025. Born on August 19, 1940, in Rockwood, Tennessee, Linda was the beloved daughter of the late Sarah Kate Carter Davis and Charles Alford Davis.
She is survived by her cherished sister, Sharlie D. Palmer of Douglasville, Georgia, and her lifelong friend, Linda “Mac” Parker of Clearwater, Florida. Linda is preceded in death by her parents and her brother-in-law, Steven Rigby Palmer.
A proud graduate of Plant High School in Tampa, Class of 1958, Linda dedicated her professional life to serving the Hillsborough County court system. She began her career in the Clerk of Criminal Court Office then she became a Judicial Assistant for Judge Graybill and Judge Simms before moving to the Public Defender’s Office. Later, she became the trusted Judicial Assistant for Emily Peacock. For a period of time, Linda left Tampa and worked in railway security for Southern Railway in Washington, D.C. Her remarkable career in the court system spanned over 50 years, leaving a legacy of service and commitment to her community.
Linda was an avid reader, she found great joy in losing herself in the pages of books, whether discovering new stories or revisiting her favorite classics. She also enjoyed a good crossword puzzle.
Outside of her love for books, Linda was an enthusiastic traveler who found joy in exploring new places. She also enjoyed spending time on the golf course and was a regular player at Rocky Point Golf Course.
Additionally, Linda was a former member of Bayshore Baptist Church, where she sang in their choir and played the piano.
A visitation for Linda will be held Monday, February 10, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Bayshore Baptist Church, 3111 W Morrison Ave, Tampa, FL 33629, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM.
