Lucile Parsons Foster, 96, of Tampa passed away peacefully Wednesday, September 29, 2021. She was the daughter of Bonnie Crews Parsons and William Herbert Parsons Jr. and step-daughter of Donald Arries. She attended local schools, Gorrie Elementary, Wilson Jr. High, and Plant High. For college she attended Florida State College for Women (FSU) where she lettered in synchronized swimming, UNC at Chapel Hill, and Katherine Gibbs in Boston, where she met her beloved husband of 50 years Robert Allan Foster (Bob) on a blind date. She loved the Lord. Lucile was active in Bible Study, teaching children at Bible Study Fellowship, and later attending Community Bible Study. She was a member of Hyde Park United Methodist Church. She was active in her sorority, Delta Delta Delta, mentoring young college women as alumnae advisor, district president, and a national associate director.
She was member of the Chislers, Palma Ceia Golf Club, Tampa Yacht Club, Junior League of Tampa, and President of The Sustainers.
She loved her family, her friends, enjoyed traveling, playing bridge with her Biddie Committee, and spending time in Linville, NC with her family. She later moved to Canterbury Tower, and lived there for over 20 years with her two childhood friends, Joy Bell and Rebecca Smith. They called
themselves “the three legged stool" because they supported each other their whole lives.
She was predeceased by her husband, Bob, and her parents.
She is survived by her loving children, Hon. Robert A. Foster, Jr., Bonnie Cocke (William), Allyn Lane (Julian, Jr.), Donald A. Foster (Becky), 12 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
The family would like to thank the caring nurses at the Canterbury Health Center, especially Joyce Mitchell.
A private graveside gathering will be held Sunday, October 3, 2021 at Myrtle Hill Cemetery.
