Lucinda Lopez

Catholic,with great faith in God and her Virgen de la Caridad del Cobre.

Was renowned for her wit, sarcasm, rebellious personality and a body of steel.

She was born in San Antonio de Cabeza, Cuba to a sugar cane grower. Eldest of seven,

she helped raise her siblings after the loss of her Mother at a very young age. Self taught,

she pursued her interests in reading, poetry and gardening.

She migrated to Patterson, N.J. in 1969 like many Cubans liberating from the Castro regime

and later on to Tampa in 1980 because she missed the warm weather.

You could always count on finding her in the garden tending to her flowers or in the kitchen

preparing a rich amazing meal. Enjoyed traveling to places were she had family.

She was a grandmother and great grandmother to many, yet she was not your typical grandma.

She was an instigator and prankster and always looking to get a reaction or the last laugh. She

was notorious for her extensive vocabulary of curse words and her insults were understood

as a sign of affection. Married to her one and only Tomas for 59 years. Always giving him

directions specially when he was driving..

She was one of a kind and marched to the beat of her own drums.

She is survived by two of her children, 10 grandchildren, and 19 great grandchildren

She will never be forgotten.

Catolica, con una gran fe en Dios y la virgensita de la Caridad del Cobre.

Muy reconocida por su ingenio, sarcasmo, personalidad y el cuerpo de acero.

Nacio en San Antonio de Cabeza, Cuba. Hija de un cultivador de cana de azucar.

Siendo la major de siete ayudo a criar a sus hermanos depues de la perdidad de su Madre que

fallecio muy joven. Su educacion fue motivada por su propio interes en leer libros y poesias.

Le gustaban mucho las flores y plantas.

En el 1969 como muchos Cubanos liberandose del regimen de Castro se fue a vivir a Patterson, N.J.

con su familia. Despues en el 1980 deseando un clima mas calido hacia Tampa, Florida

Siempre podrias contar con encontrarla en su jardin atendiendo sus flores o

en su cocina preparando sus deliciosos platos. Le gustaba viajar pero solo para visitar familiares.

Fue abuela y bisabuela para mucho. Pero no tu tipica abuela, muy bromista siempre esperando la

reaccion o la risa. Sera recordada por sus malas palabras y sus insultos que fueron entendidos como

signos de affecto. Casada con su uno y unico Tomas por 59 anos. Siempre dirigiendole sobre todo

cuando estaba conduciendo.

Le sobreviven su hijo Tomas y esposa Alcira y su hija Lucinda y esposo Ricardo, 10 nietos y 19 bisnietos.
