Mark Alan Hood

Mark spent most of his childhood and teenage years in Bridgeport, Ohio, growing up side by side with his siblings and cousins. Those early years were full of the kind of everyday moments that stay with a person — the familiar faces, the routines, the shared experiences that build a sense of home. He played football and wrestled through middle school and high school, sports that fit him well because he was tough, determined, and never backed down from a challenge.

He grew up alongside his siblings — Stacy Lee Hood Leonard, Martin Anthony Hood Jr., and Kristen Louise Hood Inoa — who knew him as someone kind and sensitive. Later in life, he became an uncle to Cody Nelson Leonard, Blaike Anthony Thomas Leonard, Amber Michelle Hood, Martin Anthony Hood III, Hannah Chasity Hood, Dominik Antonio Inoa, Scarlett Alexis Inoa, and Luke Samuel Hood. He didn’t just love them — he loved them like they were his own. He was proud of every single one of them, always paying attention to who they were becoming and holding that pride quietly but deeply.

Mark earned an associate degree in criminal justice from Belmont Technical College and built a career as a technical trainer in electronic manufacturing. He worked hard, learned constantly, and held multiple IPC certifications along with a Lean Six Sigma Bronze certification.

He had a soft spot for animals and felt most at peace outdoors. Whether he was around pets, taking in fresh air, or finding a quiet spot outside, that was where he seemed most himself.

Mark’s passing on January 17, 2026, was sudden and unexpected, and it has left a space that doesn’t make sense to anyone who loved him. His family is grieving the loss of a son, a brother, an uncle, and a man who had more life left to live.

He will be missed in ways that are hard to put into words.

A Celebration of Life Gathering will take place on January 24, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm at Blount and Curry Funeral Home Oldsmar We, located at 6802 Silvermill Dr, Tampa, FL 33635 with a service beginning at 4:00PM.
