Mary Ann was my classmate at Saint Mary's Nursing School.  Three long, long years!  28 of us graduated in 1969.  We were very close.........almost like sisters.  I worked with her after graduation at Saint Mary's.  She was a great nurse and a good friend.  She was fun to be with and always honest and upfront.  Mary Ann was loved by all.

I can see through all your photos, that she had a wonderful life and a loving family.  She never lost that great smile and became more beautiful with each passing year.  I am hoping that one day, the sadness and pain of your loss will be replaced by the love she had for her family and happy memories from a life well-lived.

I was a classmate of your mother and am so sorry for your loss. She was a great nurse with a beautiful smile and great sense of humor. Praying God will bless you all with His peace and comfort during this difficult time.

I was a class mate of Mary Ann's at St Mary's. What a gal and such a
dedicated nurse. We laughed and cried many times. She was always ready to have fun and enjoy her class mates.

I will always remember her laugh and smile.


Oh, my sympathy is with all of Mary Anne's family! The memories we made as classmates at St. Mary's will always be dear to me!  I just celebrated my 50 wedding anniversary thanks to her. On a trip back from NH in 1968, she stopped and turned me around.  Then I heard these words " either give him your number or I will  give him mine"! Neil and I  will always cherish our great times with you! 

Never forgotten. Mary Ann and I passed many hours on the Solarium at St Mary’s, as did all nursing students. We laughed cried, cursed and smoked together. We drew strength in each other.  Her support got me through very hard times. I was in her wedding party.  She pulled no punches when she asked me.  Her dear friend was pregnant and could not come. I was the only one she could think of fat enough to fit into the dress.  I was honored even though I was the second choice.  We had a blast going out together.  I knew she would continue to touch lives as she did then.  I regret that we were not together one more time. 

So sorry to hear of Mary Ann’ s passing. I was a student nurse with Mary Ann.   Prayers for her and her family.   She was an awesome nurse.  I’m sure she will be deeply missed.

I was blessed to have a beautifully compassionate woman in my life that taught me about faith, the strong bond to have with my sisters, to help someone in need, to make sure to laugh a lot, and to always be proud of who I am, and that's my Mom. The large memory book and photo album that I have in my head fills my heart and makes me laugh. It also brings me to tears that she is not here anymore. But I am at peace that she is without pain and in her final Home. A quick story that she shared with us when she was a kid about how she got the small scar on her leg. She was sitting on top of the kitchen counter eating cookies from a drawer underneath. Her mom (my grandma) was coming in the room and to keep from getting caught she jumped down and cut her leg. So, we named it the "Oreo cookie scar" . We would run to her about our boo-boos, emotional and physical.  She had the Motherly arms to hold you tight and whisper in your ear to make all the pain go away or to share your proud moment with you. She would tell us about her memories as a young girl playing handball in Brooklyn,  fun sibling times with my Uncle George and Uncle Joe, and the love of being a nurse. We also had a wonderful day together on a hot air balloon ride. I loved that day. She took us to Medjugorje to learn and hear from the visionaries of the Virgin Mary and Her messages that She sent down from heaven. That trip meant so much to her. I am grateful for so many things too long to share on this website, I'm sure. But for her to be there at my first breath and for me to be there at her last breath is a sacred moment that I will hug my Lord Jesus, when we meet someday, for giving that to me.

To my cousins (Kim, Jenny & Kathy) and family:
I have several memories of time spent with and around your mom! The story she told us (Phil & I), when we were young, about the roach crawling in her ear is one that I tell to this day! I recall sleeping with cotton balls in my ears for a long time after hearing that one! LOL!
Everytime I saw your mom, she was warm and welcoming and kind. She would flash a kind smile and always asked how my mom was doing. I feel grateful that she attended my 1st baby shower and was overjoyed with her kindness when I was going through breast cancer / surgery and she sent me a beautiful card, flowers and put me on the prayer list at her church. For not seeing her too often (due to distance), she has always been loving, kind and thoughtful towards me. She meant so much to my mother. I know they spent time together on several occasions over the past years. My mom always enjoyed her company and she would tell me about all the laughs they would have (probably "digging" on men) : )
I really wish I had a chance to get to know her better and spend more time around her!
I know all of your hearts are heavy right now and will continue to be that way for a long time...possibly forever. But to have had the love she has given each of you (to have love and lost) surpasses 'to not have loved at all'. She was YOUR mom for a reason! Honor her and let her love and life continue to shine through each one of you!

Mary Ann was my sister in law for many years. We shared many memories while she lived here in New York . A trip to see her mom and see a play was one that I’ll always remember.  Her being more worldly than I, drove  in the worst snow storm to New York which took twice as long to get there. Her mom was furious with us because it was way before cell phones so no one knew where we were. I think it took us what should’ve been 6 hours took us 10. Many laughs and very scary moments during that trip. She was always very special to me  and I’ll miss our talks about our illnesses and she always tried to stay on a positive path. She always told me she would welcome the day she could meet our Heavenly Father. Rest In Peace my sweet sister ❤️

To My Beautiful Sister MaryAnn.  I Thank The LORD that in our latter years,  we had such a Beautiful & Loving Relationship. By Loving each other, we found Jesus Mary & Joseph for all the blessings we received. We went on Pilgrimages To The Holy Land, Lourdes and Mejorgorie. We used to Say the Rosary together over the phone. We were far away her being in Tampa FL. me in Upstate New York. She has 3 Beautiful Daughters Kim, Jen & Kathy,  who grew up to be fine Women, i am very Proud of each one & Love them Dearly. My Mother, Father, and Mary Ann are in a Better World. They must be saying, Whens the pain in the BUTT coming I Hope i make it. I will Love & Pray for my Beautiful Sister until I reach Heaven. When my Mother will say to Saint Peter , Let him in. I want to Smack him for a While. Until then HELP. Love you SIS.

Jenny, Kim and Kathy  and  the children  each have  a deep heartfelt knowing of Mary Ann's love. Real love, not only the warmth of affection, but the love that led her to do all she could to enable  them to flourish and to bring love into the world as she did.  She loved in many ways and always with her sharp sense of humor  and "let's not get too serious here" attitude.   

At her last visit up to Brooklyn in 2014 we spent a day that began with a visit to  Guardian Angel Church in Coney Island  where our maternal grandmother, Theresa Ennis Sheehan,  was baptized. Then we went on a "cemetery crawl" in search of the graves of some long lost  Sheehan and Ennis relatives.  They weren't really lost for Mary Ann as she kept them alive in her imagination and  by the fruits  of her hours and hours of genealogy research. We had a good day together; that was the only time we ever spent together just the two of us sharing memories of our parents and aunts and uncles and cousins. When her research had taken her back as far as she could reach,  the 1850's, she put together an album of her findings and a calendar with the birth and death dates of all of the living and deceased . I look at the calendar everyday  to remember and pray . I continue to be  moved by her devotion and love for us all  and the gift of the many memories she gave us.

I have  many childhood memories of the zany and fun times  we had with her brothers George and Joseph, who died of a stroke in 1995,  and  her mother,. It seems that we were always at one another's houses. Our mothers, Mary and Frances, were very close with their mother and other six siblings. Nana Sheehan was a model of strength and piety, a truly holy woman ahead of her time as she was a single mother of 8 after the untimely death of her husband Frank.  With Mary Ann the apple didn't fall far from the tree as she, too, became a holy woman over the course of her adult life.   


MaryAnn and I were co-workers and friends for 18 years!  What a blessing she was.  We shared 1st grand boys,  1st trip in a HOT AIR BALLOON,  wonderful lunch’s together,  thoughts over the last year, and most important our faith.  Her girls and grandchildren were always her priority.  Peace and comfort to you all.  Leila and Jim Nugeness 

I love you Ann and will especially remember our times of prayer together.   You persevered courageously to your finish line on this old Earth and now can relax and truly enjoy Heaven's blessings and the fullness of our Lord's love - as He has promised all of us who love Him.   Now together we continue to pray for God's Kingdom to come! 

Mary Ann was one of the most charming and warmest person.  I will never forget her. My love is with you.

Over the last year she had lots of hills  to climb before she reached the top of the mountain. Now that she is at the top she can rejoice in the company of God and all her family and friends that  were waiting for her.   She will be missed.   I have enjoyed sending her cards and talking to this past year.  She put a smile on my face.  


I worked for several years with Mary Ann’s daughter, Jen Drapeau.  This was a privilege and a pleasure.  I extend my love and deepest sympathy to Jen and her family.  God bless you.

Maryann, first my supervisor, later my friend. Wonderfully warm, sincere, courageous  and candid, always interested in others.  We are honored to have known her and will cherish her memory.

To the family: Maryann was a beacon of light to those who knew her. Be proud of her, keep her memory close.
