Mary Jane McNab, age 75, of Tampa, passed away peacefully in her sleep in Tampa, FL. She was born in Tampa and moved to Tallahassee in 1955, where she attended school. She was a graduate of Leon High School Class of 1969 and later graduated from Madison Community College and attended FSU. She moved back to Tampa in 1972.
Mary Jane was a lifelong animal lover and advocate for animal rights. She learned to ride horses at a young age and raised several horses, ponies, and other pets and animals. She was a Veterinary Tech and worked at Busch Gardens in Tampa and several veterinary clinics in Florida and Tennessee. She later started a pony farm business for several years, putting on parties and events for children.
Mary Jane had a zest for life and adventure and was strong and opinionated. You never knew what kind of animal she would bring home or what she would do next.
She was preceded in death by her father, William Carson McNab, and her mother, Billie Bailey McNab. She is survived by a brother, Thomas McNab (Amy); her niece Stephanie Babb (Sean); two grandnieces and several cousins. A gathering will be held with friends and family at a later date in Tallahassee.
