Patricia B Joannes

born on March 29, 1936 in St. Paul, MN and passed on June 22, 2024. Patti met the love of her life, Mitchell Joannes, working a summer job at Alpine Golf Resort in Door County, Wisconsin. She married Mitch on November 30, 1957, and soon after, graduated from St. Olaf College (Northfield, MN) with a degree in Home Economics in Education. They traveled to California and later returned to Wisconsin where Mitch would begin his professional golf career. By his side, Patti worked at multiple golf courses in Wisconsin and Florida as the manager of the golf pro shop. Patti had many other skills and worked as a seamstress, teacher, and later a receptionist at the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Tampa. Patti loved her church life at St. John’s in Waukesha, WI and Grace Lutheran in Tampa, FL as well as her Norwegian heritage. She was an integral member of the bell choir and played the church’s piano for services as well. For fun, Patti and Mitch loved to perform in local productions with Mitch singing and Patti at the piano. Patti joins her husband, Mitch, and her parents, Harris and Grace (née Torgson) Barsness, in God’s tender care. Patti leaves behind four children: Shawn (Jami) Joannes, Shannon (Tim) Donegan, Shelly (Amy) Joannes, and Stacy (Kristin) Joannes;12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Patti is further survived by her brother Peter Barsness (Judy), and sister Jean Christie. In lieu of flowers, Patti would have loved charitable donations being made in her honor to the Alzheimer’s Association. Services: Grace Lutheran Church, Tampa, FL (3714 W. Linebaugh Ave.) June 29th at 11am. Mount Carmel Lutheran Church, Milwaukee, WI (8424 W. Center St.) July 6th at 4pm.
