Pat was born in Tampa, Florida, where she attended the Academy of Holy Names and H.B. Plant High School. She went on to attend the University of Tampa where she majored in education and was a member of Alpha Chi Omega sorority, serving as chapter president her senior year. Pat met Bob Wilson, the love of her life, in the summer of 1964. The couple married in 1968, Following Pat’s graduation from UT, the newlyweds moved to Jacksonville, where Pat began a decade long teaching career.
In 1971, Pat and Bob moved to Winter Park and were blessed with the birth of their precious daughter, Ansley. The Wilson family returned to Tampa in 1975 and were soon blessed with the arrival of their wonderful son, Rob. Pat returned to teaching in 1980, joining the faculty of St. Mary’s Episcopal Day School where she taught fifth grade until her retirement in 1988. Pat chose to work with fifth grade students specifically, seeing the year before middle school as an important transitional year for children. She loved seeing her students develop more independence and helped to foster their excitement about learning.
Pat devoted her retirement to two passions, philanthropy and her family. She served as President of The Chiselers, a board member of The Home Association and a member of the Junior League of Tampa. Pat’s faith was of incredible importance and a guiding light in her life. She was a devoted and faithful servant to God and a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church, where she served on the Altar Guild and was a member of The Order of the Daughters of the King.
Pat’s greatest joy in life was her family, with a special love for her granddaughters. She was a devoted friend and a gracious, accomplished hostess whose warmth and hospitality touched all who knew her.
