Ed later relocated to Morrow, Georgia, and in 2010 returned to Tampa, where he spent his later years. He had a long and dedicated career with the United States Postal Service, serving as a postman for 33 years. His work reflected the values he lived by every day: reliability, humility, and service to others. Ed was known for his steady presence, kind heart, and willingness to help those around him. He was simply a good man.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Linda Butts.
Ed is survived by his beloved wife, Carol Ayers; his sister, Carolyn Whidden; and his nephews, Steve and Brian, along with extended family and friends who will forever cherish his memory.
Ed’s life was defined by quiet dedication, meaningful work, and genuine care for others. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
