A good man. A kind soul. A heart as vast as the ocean he loved.
Ricardo Rojas, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away surrounded by love, leaving behind a legacy of laughter, generosity, and faith. Born and raised in the vibrant shores of Puerto Rico, Ricardo was drawn to the sea from an early age—his spirit forever tethered to the rhythm of the waves, the grace of pelicans in flight, and the joy of a kayak gliding peacefully alongside his beloved wife, Didi.
He was a man of God—not of pews and pulpits—but of presence. He found divinity in the everyday, in nature, in love, and in the laughter of those around him. A natural storyteller and people person, Ricardo spent his life in sales, building not just a career, but a web of true friendships with loyal clients who felt more like family.
He was the steady anchor of his family, raising—with Didi—three children, and delighting in his role as a father-in-law, proud grandfather, and the cherished “Popo” to one granddaughter, a grand doggy, and two curious kittens. He was a devoted son, a supportive brother, and a warm-hearted uncle to many nieces and nephews.
Ricardo had a gift: the ability to make people laugh, often at his own expense, and the willingness to help without hesitation. Whether it was a neighbor in need or a friend calling from afar, he showed up—with humor, heart, and humility.
He lived by quiet philosophies: that love is found in small moments, that kindness is strength, and that joy, like the tide, always returns.
His favorite song, “What A Day” by Matthew West, captures the essence of his faith and the peace we hope he now feels—sailing in calmer waters, embraced by God's light.
As we remember Ricardo, may we hold close the echo of his laughter, the image of a kayak gliding through blue water, and the warmth of a man who believed the best way to live was to love—fully, joyfully, and without restraint.
