Robert (Bob) Alan Erickson was born on July 14,1945 and truly lived every day of his 79 years. He entered eternal paradise on February 28, 2025. Bob was a Chicago native born to Kenneth and Florence Erickson. He had two siblings, Elaine Erickson (2023) and Marilyn (Engel). In 1966, he married his high school sweetheart Linda (Lynn) and they lived in love and adventure together for 58 years. His proudest roles in life were that of husband, dad, and grandpa. He shared countless memories with his son, Alan (Monica), and daughter, Denise (Chris), and four grandchildren, Thomas (Michelle), Daniel, Genesis (Christian), and Elizabeth. For 20 years Bob honorably served in the United States Air Force retiring in Tampa, Florida in 1985. He devoted the next eighteen years of his career to GTE. Following a second retirement, Bob embarked on his last and favorite career with 10 years at JetBlue Airlines. But Bob did not wait until retirement to begin traveling the world with his family by road, air and sea. Bob and Lynn achieved their dream of traveling to all seven continents. Bob was a lover of many genres of music. It was a thread that was woven throughout his life. From the beauty of his French horn, his shakers and tambourine, his impeccable vocal harmonies, he lovingly shared his musical gifts with all of us. Bob served in the music ministries of many parishes throughout the years, but most notably at Saint Patrick’s Catholic Church for 43 years. His greatest joy was singing with his daughter and daughter-in-law.
Bob was many things to many people: a dedicated veteran, a man of faith, a talented musician, and family man. But most importantly he was kind. Sing a song for us Bob, sing with the angels for us.
A visitation for Bob will be held Monday, March 3, 2025 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Saint Patrick Catholic Church, 4518 S Manhattan Ave, Tampa, FL 33611, followed by a Funeral Mass at 4:00 PM.
