Robin Burns Philips, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully in Tampa, Florida on August 31, 2025 She was born in Allentown, Pennsylvania, and later moved to Miami Shores, Florida, where she met her beloved husband, John Philips. Together, they built a beautiful life, eventually settling in Tampa in 1967, where they raised their son, Christopher Philips.
Robin had a long and fulfilling career as the Patient Guest Relations Manager at Tampa General Hospital, where her warmth, compassion, and professionalism left a lasting impression on countless families and staff. After retiring, she continued to give back to the community through volunteer work with the Ronald McDonald House on Davis Islands. She also found great joy and companionship as a member of the Davis Islands Garden Club.
Robin was a proud and loving grandmother to her two granddaughters, Avery and Peyton Philips, who brought her immense joy and pride.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband, John; her parents, Dr. Laverne Burns and Helen Burns of Miami Shores; and her sister, Cynthia Burns, also of Miami Shores.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, September 19, at Blount & Curry Life Event Center - MacDill, 605 S. MacDill Ave., Tampa, FL 33609. Friends and family are invited to gather at 3:00 PM, with shared stories and remembrances beginning at 4:00 PM; a reception will follow.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that you consider a dontation be made to the Ronald McDonald House on Davis Islands in Robin’s memory.
